My neighbour is selling his house and has had a problem with the legal side of things - they have found in his deeds and old right which means he could be liable to pay for repairs to the local church!

I've read about this sort of thing before where some locals have had to pay for a whole church roof. He's been advised to take out an insurance policy to pass on to the new owners before selling the house and because our houses are so close together I'm wondering if it might affect my house? How do i find out or am I better off keeping quiet and not stirring anything up?
