| Post subject: | property solicitors - how much should i expect to pay? |
I'm just looking to buy my first house, I've put an offer in today which has been accepted. The Estate agent wants my solicitors details and my Dad has given me the number of his solicitor and when i called they said it would be £400 - is this normal? I've seen it for £99 online but this seems too good to be true? |

Most high street solicitors charge on a sliding scale depending on the price of the house you are buying or selling. These prices are set by the legal council so everyone should be inline. |

Most of the solicitors charge there scale according to the area. Did you negotiate on it with him? |

Well it depends on the solicitor. Sometimes they take up to 1 or 2% of the sale to cover their fees. If you have seen a house you want to buy and it’s with reputable seller for e.g. Plaza Estates. They usually have their own solicitors in with the package although you don't have to use them. If you look for them on Google, you can find a fair number of solicitors who also deal with property. |

Nothing is certain except death and taxes. If the deposit was released to you and the deal fell through in circumstances which entitled the buyer to a refund of his down payment, you would still be obliged to give it to him.So please make sure about it by some friend's references or you can go through this site which is a toronto real estate blog and also for more details about the real estate deals in. |
