Full-time Sales, Marketing & Technical Assistant - Design & Management Engineering division

at Capita Symonds in Greater Manchester


We have a vacancy for a Sales, Marketing & Technical Assistant to provide support in delivering the marketing and bidding operations of
the Structures office in Manchester (Cheadle Hulme). A secondary role is to provide
technical administrative support to the office.

Key bidding responsibilities will include -
Supporting the Profit Centre Manager and their delegates in the preparation and
submission of all bids including:
Assistance in the production and submission of expressions of interest;
Assistance in the production and submission of Pre qualification Questionnaires ;
Sourcing bid suitable bid collateral Assistance in the production and submission of Invitation to Tender response documents
Researching key information related to bids
Production of fee bid letters
Maintaining and managing bid collateral.
Liaison with other Sales and marketing assistants within the business to:
i. Collaborate on larger bids.
ii.  Share and maintain central bid collateral.
iii. Share best practice

Key marketing responsibilities will include -
Supporting the Profit Centre Manager and their delegates on a range of activities including but not limited to:
Assist in the production of marketing collateral (brochure, capability statements and event collateral)
Assist on capturing sector and service information for PR and communication campaigns;
Provide support on booking identified key sector and industry events and assist on managing attendees;
Assist with collating information for monthly reports

Key Technical Assistance duties will include -
Support to management accountant including but not limited to:
i. Updating and maintaining project income and cost to complete forecasts
ii. General housekeeping of project data
iii. Raising invoices
iv. Checking dealing with suppliers invoices
v. Timesheet reporting
vi. Project data analysis
Support to office technical staff including but not limited to:
1. Report production.
2. Management of knowledge library.
3. Meeting room management
4. Meeting hospitality
5. Travel bookings
6. Updating of standard templates
7. Legal (non technical) administrative duties
• Manage and maintain the Environmental Management System


strong organisational skills;
creative and artistic skills;
relevant experience in bidding and marketing preferably in structures environment or relevant;
strong communications skills - ability to engage with colleagues and senior staff ;
strong understanding of design and ability to interpret design brief and produce
required results
good attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed within pre-agreed
deadlines;
Ability to respond flexibly to short notice tasks
Experience of fast pace, high volume/production activity where accuracy and
quality have been critical;
Ability to work on own initiative;
High degree of IT literacy and capability including the full range of Microsoft Office
and Adobe packages including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
