Full-time Landlord and Tenant (L&T) Surveyor

at Capita Symonds in London


Team/Background

Due to expanding workload and continuing success, Capita Symonds L&T team seek to bolster the London offering with a new Surveyor.  The team, split between London and Manchester, sits within the Real Estate Division, along with the Valuation, Building Consultancy, Rating  and Corporate Consulting teams.

The L&T team is seen as a major growth area at Capita Symonds Real Estate and is active across all sectors; retail, offices and industrial with a solid portfolio of clients both large and small.

Job Description

• Ability to turn reports around quickly and meet deadlines
• Able to carry out rent review and lease renewals from start to finish
• Some experience of rent review arbitration process
• Familiar with ’54 Act renewal process and expert reports
• Workload can be tailored to suit a sector preference or a mixture across all three
• Ability to deal with instructions acting for both landlord and tenant
• Good degree of client contact and reporting
• Ability to manage own case load and billing stream and prioritise caseload
• Willing to embrace a more focussed and fast-track approach to L&T work
• Willing to become involved in training of graduates within team
• Interest in business development both externally and within Capita Symonds Real Estate


The Person

We are seeking a Surveyor ideally with Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) within Landlord & Tenant surveying who is a team player, motivated and enthusiastic - a true ‘start-finisher’ and a good negotiator. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to have a Full driving licence.

As an experienced L&T surveyor it is expected that you will be able to demonstrate:
• MRICS qualification
• Experience of carrying out rent reviews and lease renewals.
• You are well organised; excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure and to deadlines on own initiative.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and ability to follow these through to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Good computer skills.


Ideally you will have honed your experience within London and the Home Counties
