Purpose
Capita's Property and Infrastructure Division is looking for enthusiastic and ambitious graduates who are ready to begin their career in Real Estate.
Capita’s Real Estate business advises occupiers and landlords on their property needs and specialises in the management of prestige offices, retail property and national portfolios with some 40m sq ft of property currently under management. The core services of leasing, acquisitions, disposals, corporate occupier services, development consultancy, property management and facilities management are complemented by a vast range of other professional and technical expertise across the full spectrum of property services.
The successful graduate surveyor initially will provide support to the management team and their property portfolio in the UK. After this initial rotation, you could be placed within one of the following teams – Landlord and Tenant, Investment, Agency or Valuation for your second rotation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our structured training programme. The successful candidate must be prepared to undertake their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to become Chartered, and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Responsibilities
• Assisting Surveyors and Directors to support business proposals and monitor key portfolio dates.
• Undertake reporting and work with the team to ensure possible alternatives are considered and correct actions taken at each date.
• To update and maintain property databases
• Select, agree terms and manage local professionals to undertake transactional works.
• To implement projects / changes in the portfolio.
• To liaise with other departments as and when necessary.
• Advise clients
• Writing client reports.
Experience of working within a consultancy would stand you in good stead but is not mandatory.
• Good communication skills and organisational skills
• Good knowledge of the commercial property market
• Client facing skills together with confidence and self-motivation are vital.
• An RICS accredited degree is required and the candidate should want to work towards qualification via their APC.
• Any relevant property-related work experience would be advantageous, but not essential.
