Full-time LANDesk System Administrator

at Capita Symonds in London


An excellent opportunity has arisen for a LANDesk System Administrator to join our team on a fixed term contract based in London.

Reporting to the Change Manager, you will provide day to day management of the Capita Property and infrastructure implementation of LANDesk, covering an estate of approximately 50 sites, a desktop estate of 3500 PCs and a server estate of 250.  

The LANDesk System Administrator will be based in the Carlisle office and will be a centre of excellence within the IT department for this product, including LANDesk Management Suite, Security Suite and Process Manager.  

This role will involve a range of technical activities to ensure the total management of the IT estate, including patch management, asset management, software licence management, packaging and roll out of applications and management of the internal software request portal.

You will be an experienced LANDesk System Administrator with excellent organizational and people skills, preferably within a large corporate organization, and ideally with hands on technical/networking background.


Responsibilities
• Daily management of LDMS including configuration, inventory management, deployment, reporting and troubleshooting.
• Ensuring accuracy and integrity of LANDesk data.
• Patch management of Capita Property and infrastructure server and desktop estate.
• Management of software request portal including development, troubleshooting and change.
• Compilation and roll out of standard software packages as required.
• Creation of LANDesk queries and reports.
• Reporting and presentation to the management team as required.
• Software auditing and compliance management.
• Input into development user groups as required.
• Management of Asset disposals.
• Assistance in the delivery of key projects.


Key Skills Requirements

Essential
• Certified LANDesk Engineer.
• LANDesk Management Suite, Process Manager, Security Suite.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory
• Working knowledge of ITIL processes
• Working knowledge of Windows server 2003/2008 environment.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Thorough knowledge of IT Infrastructure.
• Excellent team worker.
• Ability to communicate effectively at senior management level.
• Prepared to travel nationally to other office locations, with occasional overnight stays.  
• Full UK driving licence.


Desirable

• Knowledge of LANDesk Data Analytics
• Knowledge of MS SharePoint
• Experience of working within a large organization
