Full-time Chartered Building Surveyor

A full time permanent staff opportunity has arisen within a large International Multi-disciplinary Building Consultancy based in the Glasgow Office for an experienced Building Surveyor.
Duties will include
Effective client management
Business development skills
To manage own workload and to ensure commercial viability of delivery
To prepare and deliver a variety of schemes to the required budget and programme to a high standard.
Prepare design drawings, full specification and contract documentation for procurement of contractors on a variety of property types
Provide professional Building Surveying services to a variety of clients, across a wide variety of property types and sectors
Maintain close relationships with key existing clients and addressing concerns, to maintain high levels of satisfaction
Ensure compliance with all Quality, Building Regulations, Health & Safety and Environmental regulations and considerations
Carry out detailed condition and dilapidation Surveys
Work in line with our Quality Management systems and procedures
Ability to work under own initiative
Excellent communication skills are required and the ability to manage projects from client briefing stage, survey, preparation of specifications, design, tendering and procurement of contracts, H&S  aspects and overseeing works whilst on site to completion are essential. Project work varies in complexity and value, but familiarity of working on public sector contracts and commercial work will be advantageous.

The candidate will  play an integral part within a forward thinking Building Consultancy team, in the successful delivery of professional services to a variety of clients and sectors, reporting to the Building Surveying Manager.

Experience in performing a similar role in previous or current employment
The employee will need to have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work in a busy environment as a member of a team and on occasions under own initiative.  They will need to be willing to develop new skills beyond the core functions and have the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Experience of preparing specifications and contract documents.
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks or projects to deadline and / or budget
Good relationship management with both colleagues and clients
The ability to work under direction but to be able to use own initiative when required
Be proficient in MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, Project etc)
Educated to degree level in Building Surveying.  Minimum second class upper division
Experience of carrying out Condition Surveys
ComfThe employee must be self-motivated and have the ability to hold their own in discussions with either contractors and senior clients or employer personnel.
The employee must pass a Criminal Records Bureau check (to enhanced level)
Some travelling may be required within the UK
Full UK driving Licence
Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
Ability to network and to successfully pursue new business opportunities
Professionally qualified member of either the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB)
CoWe are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic candidate to join the Building Surveying team. The role will involve carrying out professional building surveying duties typically such as:-

Preparation of Schedule of Dilapidations
Preparation of Schedule of Conditions
Project design and management
Client management
Planned Maintenance Surveys
Preparation of Statutory Consents
mfortable in client-facing situations.

Ideally you will have:

Hold an up-to-date CSCS industry card,
